When colleges and universities build individual projects they do so within an existing campus framework and style. The challenge is to respond not only to the specific site, building program, and design goals of a project, but to integrate it into the physical, historical, and cultural context of the campus. Consideration needs to be given to pedestrian circulation, vehicular circulation and parking, service and delivery, building massing, architectural character, and landscape precedents. Wolff Landscape Architecture, Inc. provides master planning, site planning, and landscape design for colleges and universities of various size and scale. Our campus projects include master plans for The University of Chicago and Illinois State University; a landscape master plan for Trinity International University; the streetscape, plaza, and entry feature design for the University of Illinois at Chicago, Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois University; and gardens on the Midway Plaisance, joint projects of The University of Chicago and the Chicago Park District.
